“Statement re: @alexandramusic: “Due to an overwhelming demand for tickets, Alexandra Burke has decided to postpone her June ‘Lady Sings The Blues’ concerts and re-schedule the performances for later this year, at additional venues. Tickets for the six dates at the Royal Albert Hall’s Elgar Room sold out within hours, with many fans disappointed, so these new dates, to be announced soon, will allow more fans to see and enjoy the shows.” ”

The X Factor winner Alexandra Burke will perform at next month’s Zionist Federation event, celebrating Israel’s 65th birthday.
The star, who spent time singing at weddings and barmitzvahs with leading simchah performers the Gilev Showband before her rise to fame in 2008, will perform at the Yom Ha’atzmaut event on April 16.
Her first single, a cover of Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah, sold a record 105,000 copies in one day.
Other acts on the bill, set to attract an estimated 10,000-strong audience, include Israeli pop star Ivri Lider, Britain’s Got Talent winning dance troup Spellbound, Chico from the Gipsy Kings and comedian Mark Maier.
Last night, Alexandra and her mother Melissa Bell appeared on ITV’s From The Heart. The ladies spoke on Mel’s kidney failure illness and how important it is to bring awareness to organ donation.
We commend them both for their strength, openess, and desire to help others in the same situation. We cannot begin to imagine how hard it truly must be.
Alex then took the stage to perform with the legendary Jools Holland band with “Can’t Give Up Now”.

Alexandra recently chatted with Digital Spy about everything from her recent work with Nike+ Kinect, the current process of recording her third studio album, and even opens up about talk of judging The X Factor.
Here’s an excerpt from the full interview below.
Hello Alexandra, we’ve just been exercising with you using Nike+ Kinect and now we’re exhausted, so thanks for that.
“Me too! I’ve only just started doing this. Now I need to get my brother do it with me – he’s a proper sport freak, so I know he’ll love it.”
We’re assuming you got involved with it as a way of keeping fit?
“The thing is, I’m genuinely never motivated to go to the gym, but this means I can do it in my living room and keep my onesie on. Obviously, I need to keep my fitness levels up when I’m on tour or playing shows, and there’s only so much breathing exercises can do!”
You’ve also mentioned that you’re in the studio quite a lot.
“Literally, studio. It’s where you’ll find me round the clock at the moment! I’m actually going there after this interview. I’m recording in America next week and I’ve built a studio in my home as well. At the moment, I don’t think I’ve ever been so focused. I’m really focusing on this third album, but I’m looking at getting into acting as well and starting a fitness clothing line.”
How far along is the album?
“I can’t say when it’ll be finished because I honestly have no idea. I’ve always said I’m never going to rush into something – it’s about the quality that goes into it. I’m really happy that RCA have let me concentrate on it and spend time writing it rather than rushing another album six months after my last one. There’s a big focus on live instruments this time – I’m starting to learn to play the keys.”
If a spot opens on this year’s X Factor judging panel, would you be up for it?
“Can I just say, Louis ain’t going anywhere! I really would consider it. Once was definitely not enough, it gave me a taste for it. If the opportunity came about I would love it – to go out there and find the next music star would be a fantastic experience. If Simon asked I would definitely consider it – it would be an honor.”
Alexandra spoke to TV3 about the current recording process for her third studio album, and let us all in on how hard she’s been at work, even recording up to two songs every night.
She said: ”I’ve actually built a studio in my house, downstairs, I’m literally in it every day, recording, l’m flying to the states a lot, I’ve been in Los Angeles and New York a lot, and if the producers cant’ fly to me I fly to them.
”I have recorded maybe 15 songs, I usually do 60 to 70 songs for an album and whittle it down. It stretches me, I’ve been doing two songs a night.”
Alexandra, 24, has also been writing plenty of the material she is recoding, but her focus remains singing.
She added: ”I co-write a lot. For me, a song is a song, I mean, [singer] Daniel Bedingfield wrote his biggest hit in his bedroom. It could come from anywhere, as long as the lyric is great, the melody is great and it’s a great song. I just want people to hear my voice. I don’t want that to sound cliché, but as an artist you want people to hear what you do best.”
She’s also been getting advice from her famous neighbour, One Direction star Niall Horan.
Alex added: ”We’re always chilling out together, we were in the studio – not working together, but just chilling, listening to music – but he’s one of my really good friends and he’s a great boy.”
Alex and her mother Melissa Bell have been on a mission to bring awareness to organ donation in The UK.
In addition to appearing on the upcoming ITV special “From The Heart”, Alex has also opened up to Daily Mail about her attempts to bring awareness.
Despite the statistics, only 31 per cent of the British population have put themselves on the NHS Organ Donor Register – a much lower figure than in many other countries.
That’s why Alex and her mum agreed to be star guests on From The Heart, a major ITV entertainment special next week hosted by Dermot O’Leary and featuring Rowan Atkinson, Hugh Laurie and Jools Holland.
Charity: Alex has used her fame to campaign for good causes, including this one for Breast Cancer Awareness Week
The show is the centrepiece of a week of programming on ITV to raise awareness of the shortage of donated organs.
‘I was nervous about taking part initially,’ Alex admits. ‘It’s a subject that’s so personal to me I find it very emotional talking about it.
‘I only put myself on the register a year ago. I decided they can take everything from me when I die, apart from my eyes. I don’t think I’d feel happy without them, even in death.’
Along with the article, comes a new outtake from a new photo shoot which has been uploaded to the gallery.
Alexandra recorded a cover of the former James Bond theme song “Live And Let Die” by Wings. Her version was also used as the judges entrance theme for The US version of The X Factor.
